London: Ultimate Park Gym – easyhotel

After spending a hectic weekend in London, it had me thinking. I had always loved how the city worked and took to the streets like they were my own. I’d been to many events in the capital, and had been receiving more and more as Lipstick And Trainers became a huge part of my life. It was giving me reason to think, as THIS was where it was all at. Fitness was a great part of everyone’s life here, and I want to be a part of it.

One event I had been to recently was the Ultimate Park Gym at Highbury Fields. This was set up by the happening Train Dirty London (you may have heard of the likes of Skinny Rebel) and their small, hard working team. Their aim is to get London fitter by having open door gyms with personal trainers to take on one to ones (if training on your own ain’t your thing) which are based at various sites across the city.

They have some really cool apparatus like the battle ropes, the landmine holder and even boxing equipment. So there’s a little something for everyone, plus the trainers are really helpful and if you have any questions on the gear, then they are more than happy to help!

I see this being a great idea for the summer, as they’re open from 6am until 9:30am, you could fit in a workout before the day has even started! Check out their website for more details on the Ultimate Park Gym and their events around London. I will be returning to see how the guys are getting on, but I can see big things happening, so get yourselves involved if you’re into your fitness and want something a little different. Click on the various links or catch up at the bottom of this post!

Do not live in London but want to visit? I chose to stay with EasyHotel whilst checking out all the events in the area. I personally went with Old Street/Barbican as it was nearest to where I needed to be, plus that’s where it’s all happening! EasyHotel was roughly a ten minute walk from the underground (Barbican) which is only a few stops away from the main stations (Kings Cross and Euston) so for location, it’s absolutley brilliant! Pricing is as low as it’s going to get in London, keeping it a cheap and cheerful option for those travelling (like myself) in and around the city centre.

imageIt is fairly basic; only having the essentials for your short stay. If you’re looking for somewhere to keep your belongings and you’re out for most of your day then this would be ideal for your stay. There are PLENTY of places to eat within the area, so good location plus walking distance from many shops and eateries. If it’s breakfast you’d be missing out on, they even do breakfast boxes (which is only around a fiver per box) which includes basic breakfast bites to keep you going, so if you’re feeling a little lazy on the morning, the goods can be delivered to your door!

EasyHotel is safe, affordable and great for the basic traveller. Check out their other hotels within the city via their website.

A special thanks to the managers at Old Street for helping me out with my stay! If you are in need of any information, don’t be afraid in contacting the sites via the website.
