So I hear you like running? You have just signed up for a 10k, half marathon, or full marathon and are probably running for a charity. Difficult getting those pennies in, right? Well, I have come across a great initiative that will help keep me focused on fundraising for my chosen charity (Macmillan Cancer Research).

As #MyMileMatters.

All you need is a runners tracking app connected to your phone (Strava, Runkeeper, NikeApp) to get you started.

#MyMileMatters is a great campaign to help you with fundraising for your preferred charity, as the hash tag was created for people like you and me, runners looking to raise money for UK based charities.

Let’s get you started.

Join this campaign by visiting their website at RunningHeros.com and register your personal tracking device. You will need to run one mile on six separate days to then be entered into a free draw in chance of winning £3000 for your nominated charity and secondly, a running holiday (worth £1500) for yourself!

If that isn’t enough motivation, then I don’t know what is, as it is nothing lost, but much to earn!

Visit their Twitter account HERE to let them know of your participation, using the hashtag #MyMileMatters in all your tweets and pictures (they also have Instagram!) to help others recognise this great campaign.

One rule applies… All miles need to be clocked in by October the 20th 2016. So get those trainers on, and pound those pavements hard.

Overall, this will help raise awareness of the many charities we have in the UK, keep us motivated with our training and clocks up those junk miles. Even if it is just for a bit of fun, #MyMileMatters is an inspiring project that we should all be a part of.
