WE’RE BACK! Lipstick And Trainers: 2020

smiles at lulworth cove

Goodbye 2019 and a big hello for 2020!

It has been a hot minute since I posted onto my website but it HAS been with good reason. I had a few website issues and had to get some stuff sorted before I wrote anything else. Plus, I felt like I needed a small break before I come into the new year and MADE THINGS HAPPEN!

Most of the issues have been sorted and I will now be getting back on track with my posting. This will be bi-weekly on a Sunday. (Unless it is race day, in which it will be posted the following week!)

January the first is a special date for the blog, as we reach my fifth year in writing –

 Happy Birthday Lipstick And Trainers!

As it is the new year, I thought that I would share some of my personal goals for 2020.

Each year we decide to make changes, or aim for something bigger and better; New experiences and knowledge. What have you decided to do in the year 2020? Let me know your plans!

Here are three goals that I will be aiming for in the new year:

  • Marathon PB.

Many of you may know that I was training for a PB in Chicago Marathon last year. Unfortunately, I fell ill just before my trip which meant that I had to manoeuvre my goals for race day. As sad as I was, I enjoyed Chicago for what it had to offer! Plus, this meant that 2020 would be really exciting, especially when it came to my training.

I won a ballot entry for London (April) and have booked Edinburgh Marathon for the end of May. Two shots at getting my marathon PB and a chance to possibly grab a GFA whilst the training is still hot.

My current marathon PB is 3:57 so anything below that would be grand! Although I will be aiming high… Watch this space!

  • To visit a new place.

I got to travel a lot last year within the UK and I would LOVE to do some more. There are so many running events in the United Kingdom that it would be silly not to get some more experiences in exciting and new places! I have been aiming to either do a camping trip or plan a stay-cay somewhere nearby. Also, I have a few ideas in mind for Europe. We shall see!

  • To build on my business.

As some of you may know, I am a qualified L3 personal trainer and running coach. Last year I also looked into a life coaching course which is something that I will be pursuing soon. I did the foundation two-day course and enjoyed learning new skills.

I have been working on a personal project for a while now, which I hopefully will be launching this year! A lot of thought has been going into my business but now it is time to action it. I will be creating an online platform for clients and their programmes. So if you are interested in training/racing for a running event please do get in touch!
